The falls drop 600 feet down a sheer rock face in two dramatic tiers. Whether you’re looking for a short, family-friendly stroll or planning a day of canyon exploring, this stop has something for everyone.
I recently spent a sunny afternoon at Bridal Veil Falls and was reminded why it’s one of my favorite easy waterfall hikes. It’s accessible, stunning, and pairs perfectly with a picnic or a longer adventure nearby.

The Hike to Bridal Veil Falls

One of the best things about Bridal Veil Falls is how easy it is to access. There’s a paved parking area right off Highway 189, with a short, flat trail leading directly to the base of the falls. The path is part of the Provo River Parkway, which stretches for miles along the canyon floor and is great for walking, running, biking, and stroller-friendly outings.
If you want to get closer to the waterfall, you can take the short dirt path that leads to the pool at the bottom of the falls. In the summer, it’s the perfect place to cool off your feet in the icy water or enjoy the refreshing mist coming off the cascade.
Waterfall Details
Bridal Veil Falls drops an impressive 607 feet in two tiers, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in Utah. During the spring runoff, the water crashes down the cliff in full force, while in winter, it transforms into an epic frozen sculpture, and a favorite among ice climbers.
There used to be a tram that took visitors up to a restaurant at the top of the falls, but it was shut down years ago. The remnants are still visible if you look closely!
Perfect Picnic Spot
Bridal Veil Falls Park offers picnic tables, grassy areas, and restrooms nearby. If you’re traveling with kids, it’s a perfect place to let them explore, splash around, and burn some energy before or after lunch.
Best Time for Photos
- Spring: Full flow with snowmelt—most dramatic.
- Fall: The canyon lights up with golden aspens and maples.
- Winter: Frozen falls create magical ice formations.
- Early Morning or Late Afternoon: Best lighting and fewer crowds.
