Hanging out by the falls

The hike to Scout Falls begins at the Timpooneke Trailhead, which is also the starting point for the Mount Timpanogos summit trail. The trail is well-maintained and offers a gradual ascent through shaded forests and open meadows. Along the way, you will encounter several small stream crossings and scenic views of the surrounding mountains.

Approximately 1.5 miles into the hike, a clearly marked side trail leads to Scout Falls. The waterfall cascades over a rocky ledge, and during spring and early summer, the flow is especially impressive due to snowmelt. The area around the falls can be slippery, so use caution, especially if you choose to explore behind the waterfall.

Keep the Scout Falls Spectacular

As with all outdoor adventures, remember to follow Leave No Trace principles to help keep the Scout Falls Spectacular for future visitors. Respect the land, and always leave the area better than you found it.
