The trail begins with a steady incline through a shaded canyon, with Battle Creek running alongside you most of the way. You’ll pass through wildflowers, cottonwoods, and rocky cliffs before arriving at the main event: a stunning 50-foot waterfall cascading into a shallow pool.

On a hot day, nothing beats standing under the falls and feeling the cool mist soak into your clothes. It’s refreshing, invigorating, and 100% worth the short hike.

The Winter Experience

Winter transforms Battle Creek Falls into a completely different world. The trail is quieter, the creek partially frozen, and the falls? A towering ice sculpture.

The icicles sparkle in the sun, and the canyon feels peaceful and untouched. I’ve seen massive ice columns form over the falls, with delicate shards layering the nearby rocks and branches. It’s the best after a fresh snowfall.

Tip: Bring microspikes in winter. The trail gets icy, especially near the falls.
